Eelgrass (Vallisneria americana)

Common Name: Wild celery, tapegrass, eelgrass

Description: Roots buried in mud with tufts of ribbonlike, flaccid leaves. Horizontal stem system connecting tufts of leaves. Flower visible in late summer supported by coiled stalk.
