Nutrient Deactivation

Excess aquatic growth and “mucky” bottoms can pose major problems for lake and pond owners. Suppressing or eliminating available nutrients, the source of these problems, can be accomplished through a nutrient abatement program. This may include: proper watershed management, nutrient flocculent applications, microbial augmentation, and/or aeration. Marine Biochemists design a nutrient abatement program for your pond or lake needs:

Nutrient Deactivation/Flocculant Applications:

-Aluminum sulfate (alum) or ferric sulfate (ferri floc) applications.
- Applications flocculate (tie up and remove) nutrients from the water column.
- Applications seal up the bottom sediment preventing additional nutrients from leaching out of the substrate.
- An added benefit is improved water quality
.

We are equipped to handle small or large nutrient deactivation applications of alum or aluminum sulfate and ferri floc or ferric sulfate

Microbial Bioaugmentation

Aeration:
- Strategic location and installation of the right size and configuration of an aeration systems plays a key role in nutrient abatement.
-Suitable aeration coupled with proper watershed management practices serve to enhance the effectiveness and longevity of microbial bio-augmentation and nutrient deactivation applications. (see Compressed Air or Fountains).

Watershed Management

Pricing is customized for every project based upon size of lake or pond, nutrient condition, products selected, frequency of applications, scope of other services contracted, etc. We promise the best available technology and services within your budgetary means.
